The children here in Haiti refer to Santa Claus
as Papa Noel, but he rarely comes to visit them. He is just a jolly
fellow they see in pictures sometimes. Thanks to all of you who
donated toys this year, he will be visiting some of the children
here. We plan to distribute many of the toys to the malnourished
little kids who come to the clinic in Joli Trou with their moms
to get the supplemental food every month. Most of them live in the
mountains, so probably have never even heard of Papa Noel. However,
I am sure they all like toys. Carolle Colas, the nurse who owns
the clinic, has been having a Christmas Party for them for several
years and we have been providing the toys for them. It will be fun
to do it again this year. I think we may even have some extra toys
to give to the children who attend the school we have been helping
in the slum are near the airport. It will be so much fun to celebrate
Christ's birth by giving joy to the little children here who are
so deprived.
